ALDO COACH

Aldo — Health & Safety Notice and Waiver

Last updated: August 13, 2026 · Version 3.0

This notice is part of the Terms of Use for Aldo, the app and website at aldo-coach.app operated by River Lentil LLC, a California limited liability company ("we", "us"). Read it before you train with Aldo. By using the Service you accept it, including the assumption of risk and the release of liability in sections 8 and 9.

1. What this document is

Aldo gives you AI-generated training guidance: workouts, programs, loads, progressions, schedule changes, and — if you use the injury features — pain tracking and rehab-oriented suggestions.

This document explains the risks of acting on that guidance, the things Aldo is not, and what you are agreeing to when you train with it. It is written to be read, not skimmed past. If any of it is unacceptable to you, do not use the Service.

2. Exercise carries inherent risk

Physical training carries an inherent risk of serious injury, permanent disability, or death. That risk exists in any strength, conditioning, or rehabilitation activity, and it cannot be eliminated — not by good programming, not by good technique, and not by an AI coach.

Risks include but are not limited to: muscle strains and tears, tendon and ligament injuries, joint damage, fractures, disc and spinal injuries, dropped or mishandled loads, falls, heat illness, rhabdomyolysis, fainting, cardiac events, aggravation of an existing injury, and death.

Some of these risks come from your own actions, some from equipment or environment, some from conditions you may not know you have, and some from following guidance — human or AI — that turns out to be wrong for you.

3. Not medical advice

Aldo provides general fitness and training information only.

If you need medical care, get medical care from a person licensed to provide it.

4. Talk to a physician before you start

Consult a physician or other qualified healthcare professional before beginning or significantly changing any exercise program — and especially before you use Aldo if any of the following apply to you:

If a professional's guidance conflicts with what Aldo suggests, follow the professional.

5. Injury and rehab features — read this section

Aldo lets you record injuries, mark their status, log a 0–10 pain score on individual sets, and receive rehab-oriented coaching, including suggested progressions back toward normal activity. These are the highest-risk features in the app. Here is exactly what they are and are not.

Pain tracking is informational only. A 0–10 pain score is a number you typed, stored so you and the coach can see a trend. Aldo does not — and cannot — diagnose the cause of your pain, distinguish benign training soreness from tissue damage, detect a condition you have not told it about, or judge whether your pain is safe to train through. A pain score going down is not evidence that an injury is healing. A pain score going up is not a diagnosis. Pain is one signal, interpreted by software with no ability to examine you.

Rehab-oriented suggestions are general fitness information, not a treatment plan. When Aldo suggests modified movements, reduced loads, alternative exercises, or rehabilitation-style work, it is offering general training information based on what you typed. It is not prescribing therapy, not delivering a plan of care, and not supervising your recovery. A treatment plan comes from a clinician who has examined you, knows your imaging and history, and is accountable for your outcome.

Return-to-activity progressions are not medical clearance. Aldo may suggest a progression that increases load, volume, range of motion, or intensity over time after an injury. That is not clearance to return to training, lifting, or sport. Only a qualified clinician who has evaluated you can clear you to return after an injury. Do not treat a progression step, a green status in the app, a "cleared"-sounding phrase, or any encouragement from the coach as clearance. If you have been given restrictions by a clinician, those restrictions govern — regardless of what Aldo suggests.

The coaching is only as good as your disclosure. Aldo knows nothing about your body except what you have entered. Omitted injuries, understated pain, and out-of-date statuses produce confident coaching built on a false picture. Keep your injury entries current, and log pain honestly — including when it is inconvenient.

Stop before you find the limit. If a suggested movement, load, or progression provokes pain, do not push into it to see whether the app is right.

6. Stop conditions and emergencies

Stop exercising immediately and seek medical care if you experience any of the following:

In an emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately. Do not use the app's chat to seek emergency help. Aldo is not monitored in real time, is not an emergency service, cannot summon help, and cannot assess a medical emergency.

7. You are responsible for your own decisions

You decide what to lift, how heavy, how often, and whether to train at all on a given day. Aldo suggests; you choose. Before acting on any suggestion, judge whether it is safe for your body, your ability, your equipment, your environment, and your current health. Train within your ability, use appropriate equipment and safeties, use spotters where warranted, and stop when your body tells you to.

Video demonstrations are not form coaching. Aldo can point you at exercise videos — the "watch tutorial" button runs a YouTube search for the movement, and the coach may link to videos it found by searching. Nobody vetted them. We do not choose, review, or endorse them. The technique shown may be wrong, may suit a body or an injury history unlike yours, or may be unsafe for you specifically. A video is not a coach watching you lift. If you copy what you see and it hurts, stop. When your form actually matters — a movement you are new to, a heavy attempt, a lift you are returning to after injury — get eyes on you from a qualified person, not from a search result.

8. Assumption of risk

You knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks associated with using Aldo and with any exercise, training, program, progression, or rehabilitation-oriented activity you undertake based on it — including risks of serious injury, permanent disability, and death, and including risks arising from AI-generated guidance that is inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for you.

You accept these risks whether they arise from your own actions, from the accuracy or inaccuracy of the Service's output, from equipment or environment, or from conditions known or unknown to you.

9. Release and waiver of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release, waive, and discharge River Lentil LLC, its members, managers, employees, and agents, and any successor entity, from all claims, demands, damages, and causes of action of any kind — including those arising from ordinary negligence — for injury, disability, death, or loss arising out of or relating to your use of Aldo, its AI-generated coaching, its injury and rehab features, or any training or rehabilitation activity you undertake based on them.

You also waive the protection of California Civil Code section 1542, which states: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party."

This release does not cover, and does not attempt to cover, gross negligence, reckless or willful misconduct, fraud, or any liability that cannot be released under California law.

This release binds you, and anyone claiming through you, including your heirs and personal representatives.

10. Your representations

By using the Service, you represent that:

11. Relationship to the Terms of Use

This Health & Safety Notice and Waiver is incorporated into the Terms of Use and forms part of your agreement with us. The disclaimers and limitation of liability in the Terms apply alongside the release in section 9. What data the injury and rehab features collect, and where it goes, is described in the Privacy Policy.

If you do not accept this notice, do not use Aldo.
